Moondance Yarns
- My Moondance yarns are spun from the variety of natural coloured fleeces provided by the sheep in my own multi-coloured Shetland Flock and are now available!

First, the sheep are sheared by my husband John; then I carefully select, pick clean and sort them by colour.

Finally, I pack them in large wool 'sheets' and send them to 'Woolcount'

This is a wonderful new mill at Brecon in Wales, run by Robi Mandley and managed by Robert Southall.

There the fleeces are gently washed, carded and spun for softness.

I am thrilled with the result and know that you will love using it in a wide range of projects from sweaters to socks.

The yarn has a soft handle, but is strong and substantial - much like the hardy little Shetlands I raise!

My Shetland yarn is available in the six pure and completely natural shades (not dyed) and illustrated in detail below.

All are lovely, soft and come in 100g DK (double knit) weight skeins averaging 250 yds - or 230 meters - per skein.  It typically knits up to 22 stitches/30 rows over a 4"/10 cm tension gauge on a 4 mm needle ( U.S. 6).

Price:  £7.00 per skein
